Memorial Service

Sunday 3rd November
6:30pm in Church

in Loving Memory

For all those who have lost a loved one and want to remember them.

All Soul’s Day (2nd November) is the day that the church traditionally remembers the faithful departed. Therefore on the Sunday closest to that day we are going to hold a special service in church to help people remember their loved one and receive prayers for their ongoing journey. Names of those we want to remember will be read out and prayers will be offered in the context of a simple church service. Whether you have lost a loved one this year or many years ago, this is a chance to remember them and know the love and support of the church community. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the church hall.

S.A.N.D.S. Lights of Love Carol Service

Sunday 1st December
7pm in Church

SANDS Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Charity

With the Christmas season nearly upon us, Carnmoney Church, are working in partnership with Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, to host a special carol service to remember any babies who have died prematurely either before or after birth. Christmas is often a difficult time if this has happened to you and this evening will be a chance to come together with others who have experienced a similar tragedy to draw strength from each other and the traditional Christmas story. Parents, relatives and friends are all welcome. and there will be refreshments served in the church hall after the service.

Those attending the service will be able to add a special message in memory of their son or daughter to the “Lights Of Love” Christmas Tree. There will also be a toybox appeal where parents can bring a toy or gift for the age their child would be this Christmas and leave it under the Christmas tree. This gives parents an opportunity to include their child in the family Christmas preparations by choosing a toy or gift they would have bought for them had they lived. All toys and gifts will be donated to a local children’s charity after the services so parents can take comfort from the fact that their child’s gift will brighten another child’s Christmas.
Steven Guy, Sands NI Coordinator, says: ‘The death of a baby or another loved one is difficult to bear at any time of the year. Yet at Christmas, with so much emphasis on children, families and sharing happy times together, those feelings of grief can often seem even more acute. Those attending say they find the evening provides them with a time of peace and reflection and an opportunity to cherish the short time they had with their baby.’
Everyone is very welcome and if you want to know more please ring Rev Andy Heber on 028 90836337.
