Carnmoney Community Friendship Club Christmas Party

A great time was had by over 50 senior citizens who attended the Carnmoney Community Friendship Club Christmas Party on Wednesday 15th December. The afternoon began with a lovely buffet meal provided by Hard Hat Catering a local family firm, and the meal was augmented with contributions of food from various local shops and stores. Throughout the afternoon Louis Small kept us entertained musically and many people took the opportunity to show off their dancing skills. During a break in proceedings the answers were given to the Christmas table quiz and Andy the Vicar told the Nativity story from the viewpoint of the innkeeper’s son, using a number of different hats and props. Towards the end of proceedings everyone was delighted to receive a surprise visit from Santa who came bearing a gift for everyone.
The community Friendship Club meets on the 2nd Wednesday afternoon of every month; the next meeting in January will include a talk from Lucy Richards, Tesco’s Community Champion, on healthy eating.
