Healing Service - Sunday 29th March 2020

A Message from Brother David Jardine

Hello, Brothers and Sisters,
I am really sorry not to be with you for a healing service this morning.  Andy asked me months ago if I would come today.  However we did not know then that the corona virus would stop us coming together.  But there is one thing that the corona virus cannot do.  It cannot stop us praying.  In these days of self- isolation we have a great opportunity to spend more time in prayer.  What a great blessing that is.  I am praying for about 25 or 30 people at the moment.  I just go over the list again and again, every day. What I have found is that almost all of them have made great progress, and some have been completely healed.  One lady has had a very difficult time for the last 5 or 6 years.  I find when I pray intensively for her her whole health and strength are completely renewed.  A man who had been abused as a child came to me in great distress 6 or 8 months ago, and appealed to me to pray for him.  I spend time every day bringing him before the Lord.  He also is completely renewed.  Another man was suffering from nose bleeds over a considerable period of time.  Again I prayed intensively.  Inside a week or two they stopped completely and have never come back.
So, Brothers and Sisters, may I suggest that we all use this period of self- isolation as an opportunity, an opportunity to spend more time with the Lord - praying for people who need God's help, praying for this church, praying that the Lord will drive back and overcome the corona virus.
Lord, we are not worthy that you should come under our roof, but only speak the word and we shall be healed.

Intercessions SET A

Let us pray to God, who alone makes us dwell in safety:

For all who are affected by coronavirus, through illness or isolation or anxiety, that they may find relief and recovery:
Lord, hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

For those who are guiding our nation at this time, and shaping national policies, that they may make wise decisions:
Lord, hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

For doctors, nurses and medical researchers, that through their skill and insights many will be restored to health:
Lord, hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

For the vulnerable and the fearful, for the gravely ill and the dying, that they may know your comfort and peace:
Lord, hear us, Lord, graciously hear us.

We commend ourselves, and all for whom we pray, to the mercy and protection of God. Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ.   Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer
Let us pray for the coming of God’s kingdom
in the words our Saviour taught us:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.  Amen.

May God the Father, judge all-merciful, make you worthy of a place in his kingdom.  Amen.
May God the Son, coming among us in power, reveal to you the path from darkness to light.  Amen.
May God the Holy Spirit, make you steadfast in faith, joyful in hope and constant in love.  Amen.
And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, rest upon you and remain with you always.  Amen.
